“A step above Toyota?” What is the identity of the car that achieves fuel efficiency of 23.7km/L?
China's Geely Automobile unveiled the hybrid sedan Xingrui L. The Xingrui L is equipped with a hybrid system newly developed by Geely Automobile and can drive 1,200 km on a single tank of fuel, and is expected to be released at a reasonable price of around 20 million won.
Geely Xingrui L has sleek horizontal headlamps and a vertical pattern radiator grill that gives a majestic feel. Geely's emblem is located in the center, and fog lights are applied to the bottom of both sides of the bumper. The wheel size is 18 inches and the black color gives it a sporty feel.
The vehicle size is 4,825 x 1,880 x 1,469mm (total length The rear part emphasizes the width of the car by applying long tail lamps connected to the left and right, and the sleek bumper design gives it the feel of an electric car.
The interior is reminiscent of electric cars, especially Tesla. A large vertical infotainment monitor is located in the center of the horizontal dashboard and crash pad. Buttons are also omitted, so the display part is very similar to Tesla models. However, there is a difference in the 12.3-inch digital cluster behind the steering wheel.
Additionally, a variety of convenience features are provided. Many consumer-preferred specifications were applied, such as ventilated front seats, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, and 360-degree around view function. Ambient light was applied here to enhance the interior design sensibility.
The powertrain is equipped with Geely Automobile’s DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) system. It is a powertrain that combines a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine, two electric motors, and a 3-speed transmission, and according to Geely, it is known to have better thermal efficiency than Toyota's hybrid system.
The 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine produces a maximum output of 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 22.9 kg.m, and the combined system combined with the electric motor produces a maximum output of 245 horsepower and a maximum torque of 55.6 kg.m. The combined fuel efficiency revealed by Geely Automobile is 23.7 km/L, which means it can drive about 1,200 km on one refueling.
Meanwhile, Geely Xingrui L is scheduled to begin official sales in the Chinese market this month, and the price is said to be around 130,000 yuan (about 23.4 million won).
